Ferrite-Bainite Steel (FB-Ferrite and Bainite Steel) is also known as Stretch Flangeable or High Hole Expansion Steel, because it has good Hole expansion performance (that is, flange flanging ability). The metallographic microstructure of FB steel consists of ferrite and bainite. FB steel can be used to make hot-rolled products, and its main advantages are its good hole expansion performance, anti-collision performance and excellent fatigue resistance. Usually it is considered for the production of laser-butt-welded slabs for stamping large and medium-sized body panels or heavy-duty parts such as automobile chassis and wheels.
