Product Description

4J38 
Free-cutting low-expansion alloy 4J38 is obtained by adding an appropriate amount of selenium (Se) element on the basis of 4J36 alloy. Compared with 4J36 alloy, it has good cutting performance and similar expansion coefficient. The alloy is mainly used to manufacture parts with approximately constant dimensions in the temperature range and high surface roughness requirements.

  The expansion coefficient performance test sample specified in 4J38 heat treatment system standard shall be processed and heat treated according to the following method: heat the semi-finished sample to 840°C±10°C, keep it warm for 1h, quench it in water, and then process the sample into a finished sample. ºC ± 10 ºC insulation for 1h, with furnace cooling or air cooling.

4J38 Application Overview and Special Requirements The alloy was successfully developed in my country in the early 1980s. After years of use, the performance is stable. Mainly used for processing microwave cavity, inner waveguide and other parts. Dimensional accuracy and surface roughness are satisfactory. In use, the heat treatment process and processing process should be strictly controlled to ensure the stability of material properties.
