4J47 Overview
4J47 has an expansion coefficient close to that of soft glass in the temperature range of 20-400°C, and is used for matching and sealing with corresponding soft glass. This type of alloy contains chromium. After oxidation treatment, a very dense oxide film is formed on the surface of the alloy, which is firmly combined with the substrate and has good wettability with soft glass. Therefore, a high-strength sealing surface can be obtained. It is an important sealing structure material in the electric vacuum industry.
4J47 heat treatment system The expansion coefficient performance test sample specified in the standard is heated to 1100°C ± 20°C in a hydrogen atmosphere, kept for 15 minutes, and cooled to below 200°C at a speed of no more than 5°C/min.

4J47 application overview and special requirements
This combination of alloys has been used by aviation factories for a long time and has stable performance. It is mainly used to make various electric vacuum components, such as anode caps of electron beam tubes. In the application, the selected glass should match the expansion coefficient of the alloy. In order to improve the sealing strength between metal and glass, it is allowed to contain a certain amount of aluminum and cerium in the alloy. During heat treatment, excessive grain size should be avoided to ensure that the strip has good deep drawing performance and air tightness.

Under the condition that the average linear expansion coefficient reaches the standard, the content of nickel and chromium is allowed to deviate from the range specified in Table 1-2. For the manufacture of welded pipes, the mass fraction of 4J47 alloy aluminum should not exceed 0.10%.
