Introduction to Grade 7 Titanium Alloy:
Abbreviated as Gr7 or Gr.7
Grade 7 titanium alloy (titanium palladium alloy) has excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing media. It also has a certain corrosion resistance to reducing media, especially to improve its crevice corrosion resistance in high chloride ion concentration media. Grade 7 titanium alloy contains 0.2% palladium. Grade 7 titanium palladium alloy can reduce the corrosion rate from 48.26mm/a (industrial pure titanium) to 0.508mm/a in 5% boiling sulfuric acid, and the corrosion resistance can be increased by about 95 times. The alloy has good processing, forming and welding properties, but contains the precious metal palladium, and the cost is high. Grade 7 titanium alloy, as an alloy formed by adding a small amount of noble metal Pd to pure titanium, has excellent corrosion resistance to acidic media, and the presence of non-toxic auxiliary elements Al and V will become a substitute for pure titanium and Ti-6Al -4V High-quality materials for implant biomedicine

Fabrication and Heat Treatment
(1) Welding. It is welded by argon arc welding. The weld pool and the heat-affected zone > 400 °C shall be protected from gaseous contamination in the air. Cylindrical blanks are welded after argon shielding with upper and lower protective boxes. Clean the welding groove surface before welding.
(2) Heat treatment. Stress-relief annealing is used to eliminate the internal stress of Grade 7 materials during welding and avoid cracking during hydroforming. Annealing can also reduce the strength of the material and improve the plasticity of the material. In order to reduce the pollution of various gases on the surface of Grade 7 materials during heat treatment, the lower limit temperature is selected for annealing, and an anti-oxidation coating is applied to the surface of the blank.
